See the big barrel!

The Idle Hour, 4824 N Vineland Ave, Studio City, CA

One of the brightest new fun spots in NOHO is actually one of the oldest. Groove to the Americana-country-blues songs of the all-original Cactus Jam Band while enjoying craft beer and cocktails inside of a giant wooden keg! This gorgeously remodeled architectural wonder is The Idle Hour Bar, LA’s newest reboot of the 1940’s car culture tavern. Constructed in the 1940’s and designed to snag newly mobile drivers along valley boulevards, this cafe was built in the shape of a huge whiskey barrel! Beckoning folks to spend their “Idle Hour” sipping and eating in a wonder world of wooden craftmanship. Today the bar has a spectacular menu, craft beer and mixology, a wooded patio and live music on Thursday nights - inside the keg. You can even eat in a dining room that is a giant pipe-smoking dog; their re-creation of the route 66 inspired “Bulldog Cafe”. In a similar time travel arc, singer/guitarist Terry Okey will lead his band through country, blues, folk, R&B and even a waltz. New grooves from old traditions. Two lucky patrons will recieve commemorative Idle Hour/Cactus Jam T-shirts. Please mark your calendar and join us for this special night.
